Meet Eniola Ibiwoye: Our Inaugural 2025 OPL Scholar
2025 OPL SCHOLAR
We are thrilled to introduce Eniola Ibiwoye, the first recipient of our newly launched OPL Scholars Program.
Selected from the top 10% of our 2025 graduates, Eniola represents the excellence and determination that define OPL Academy alumni. Her one-year apprenticeship is generously sponsored by Bettah Life Insurance, a company dedicated to promoting active lifestyles and improving wellbeing.
Eniola has been connected to Strepris Limited through the OPL Scholars Program, where she is currently deployed to work on a project at Eko Atlantic, gaining hands-on experience in Engineering.
According to Eniola, "OPL gave me the opportunity to learn and to gain hands-on experience. Thank you OPL Academy, I'm extremely grateful."
The OPL Scholars Program is designed to bridge the critical gap between training and career-ready experience. By placing high-potential graduates with leading construction companies for intensive apprenticeships, we're not just creating jobs, we're building careers.
From Agidingbi to Eko Atlantic
Eniola is the second of three children. Her older brother works as an electrician, her mother is a tailor, and her father earns a living as a laundryman. From this humble but hardworking background, she nurtured a lifelong dream: to become an electrical engineer.
After completing her SSCE at Community High School in Mowe, her family relocated to Agidingbi in 2021. Determined to pursue her passion, she enrolled at Government Technical College (GTC), Agidingbi, to study Electrical Installation.
During her time at GTC, Eniola participated in the OPL Technician Empowerment Program (TEP). Over five intensive days, she gained essential skills in communication, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, leadership and ethics, customer expectations management, personal grooming, and CV writing.
Her brilliance stood out immediately. She graduated as the best student in her TEP class and received the Governor of Lagos State Award as the Best Female Electrical Student at GTC Agidingbi.
Making History
In June 2025, OPL Academy launched the Scholars Program and received nearly 100 applications. After rigorous evaluation, Eniola emerged as our inaugural scholar.
Today, she works with Strepris Limited, reading blueprints, troubleshooting electrical systems, and solving real problems.
Breaking the Cycle
Thousands of graduates complete training with solid skills but hit a wall: employers demand experience, but how do you gain experience without a job? It's a frustrating cycle that stalls careers and widens Nigeria's skills gap.
The OPL Scholars Program breaks this cycle by placing our top graduates in year-long apprenticeships with leading firms. They gain real-world experience. Companies access pre-trained talent. The industry gains skilled professionals.
Partner With Us
We're calling on construction and engineering companies to join us. When you partner with OPL, you gain access to vetted graduates who are technically trained, professionally prepared, and hungry to prove themselves.
